Heavy fighting has continued on several fronts between Russia and Ukraine over the past 24 hours. Russia said on Saturday it had attacked a Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile system and other military targets. Ukraine reported the same day that its forces had hit a Russian ammunition depot, according to the latest information on the conflict.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Russian army took a more advantageous position on the front line on Saturday and attacked a Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile system, fuel depots, drone production workshops and other targets.

In addition, according to the ministry, the Russian air defense system intercepted enemy missiles, aerial bombs, rockets and drones.

On Saturday, Russian forces repelled attacks by the Ukrainian army in the Kursk region of western Russia, destroying Ukrainian electronic warfare base stations, anti-artillery radars and several armored vehicles, the ministry reported.

On the same day, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces published a report stating that since Saturday afternoon, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continued to engage in heavy fighting with Russian troops in Pokrovsk in eastern Ukraine and in other directions and were taking the necessary measures to repel the Russian offensive.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry has released a video showing that Ukrainian forces successfully attacked a Russian ammunition depot in Voronezh, western Russia.

Early Saturday morning, Voronezh Region Governor Alexander Gusev said on social media that Russian air defense forces shot down several drones over the region, with the falling debris causing a large fire and an explosion in a warehouse. The blast left two people injured and led to the evacuation of over 200 people.

The Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday that 115 Russian soldiers captured by Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region had been returned from Ukrainian-controlled territory under an exchange agreement.

“In return, 115 prisoners of war were handed over to the Ukrainian armed forces,” the ministry said, adding that the United Arab Emirates had made mediation efforts during the exchange.

All exchanged Russian servicemen are currently in Belarus and will be sent to Russia for treatment and rehabilitation in the ministry’s medical facilities, it said.

Also on Saturday, Alexei Smirnov, acting governor of the Kursk region, said on social media that in order to ensure the safety of the Kursk nuclear power plant, the regional operational headquarters had decided to temporarily ban all cultural, sports and other events in the waters of the Kurchatov reservoir, in the surrounding area and in its coastal zone.

In addition, the operation of entertainment venues and the holding of mass events within the coastal zone are temporarily prohibited.
