Eyebobs Oversight Sunglasses Review: How do these sunglasses fit and feel?

Although I own and wear both glasses and contact lenses, I wear my glasses much less often than I would like. I tend to wear my sunglasses outdoors, especially when driving on a sunny day. The idea of prescription sunglasses intrigued me, and when I got the chance to try out a pair from Eyebobs, I jumped at the chance.

As with any new pair of glasses, there was definitely an adjustment period with the ones I tested. When I first put the Oversight sunglasses on, my eyes didn’t adjust immediately, but after a few minutes I found them comfortable to wear. Also, these sunglasses are designed for people with wider heads, meaning the frame and size won’t be right for everyone, but it definitely worked out for me.

What is Eyebobs?

Eybobs are functional and reliable glasses for everyday use.

Eyebobs is an eyewear brand founded in 2001. The brand designs functional, reliable glasses for everyday wear, whether reading in bed at night or driving during the day. Their mission is to design glasses that offer the perfect balance between affordability and quality. They noticed that many stores either carried cheap reading glasses or expensive designer glasses – they wanted to find a middle ground.

Eyebobs sells various types of glasses, including blue light glasses, reading glasses, prescription glasses and sunglasses. Many different frame types and colors are offered to suit every taste, such as cat-eye, hexagon, oval, round, rectangular and square glasses. The brand also sells eyewear accessories such as clip-on sunglasses and lanyards.

How does the ordering process work at Eyebobs?

The ordering process at Eyebobs is fairly straightforward and should be familiar to anyone who has ever bought prescription glasses online. First, you select the type of lens you want. You can choose from full-lens reading glasses, polarized glasses or prescription sunglasses. All of these lens types offer UV protection and the polarized and prescription lenses reduce reflective glare and enhance bright colors.

The next step depends on the type of lens you choose. If you choose full lens reading glasses, you can choose the power of the lens, which ranges from +1.00 to +3.50. For polarized lenses, you can choose between brown and gray. For prescription lenses, which is what I chose, you can choose between single vision or progressive lenses. Both lenses are suitable for everyday use. If you choose full lens reading glasses or polarized lenses, you will be asked if you want to add a case for $10. If you choose prescription lenses, you will have a few more steps to complete.

Once you’ve decided whether you want single vision or progressive lenses, you’ll need to add your prescription. Once you do that, you’ll submit your pupil distance (PD), which Eyebobs will calculate for you using its handy tool. You’ll then have the option to upgrade to thinner lenses.

Finally, you choose tints and coatings. The transition option allows your lenses to adapt to changing UV radiation conditions, while the polarized lenses always provide 100% UV protection and glare-free vision. You can choose between brown and gray for both options.

What I like about Eyebobs sunglasses

Credit: Reviewed / Lily Hartman

They are sturdy, stylish and fit perfectly.

They are robust and fit well

These sunglasses fit my face really well right out of the box. When I turned my head left and right or up and down, they didn’t move. When I ordered them, I entered my face measurements and the size Eyebobs sent me was perfect. Fit is one of the most important steps when ordering glasses and Eyebobs did not disappoint.

They are stylish

Let’s be honest: We all care about how glasses look on our faces. I mean, that’s why stores have mirrors. Personally, I’m a fan of oversized frames, which is why I like to wear my Oakley Sutros while hiking. The opalescent colors of these Oversight sunglasses add style, while the acetate frame keeps them feeling light and durable. Plus, you can choose from a variety of colors to suit your taste, like lavender, gray, or coral.

They are pleasant to my eyes

When I switched from my glasses to these sunglasses, I didn’t notice much difference in my vision. At first my vision was a little blurry, but after a few minutes they got used to it. Since my vision didn’t feel much different after adjusting to the sunglasses, this was proof that the prescription was right.

In addition, these sunglasses have UV protection and an anti-reflective coating. When I wore my glasses again, my eyes were sensitive to the sunlight. This made me realize how well the sunglasses protected my eyes from the sun.

What I don’t like about Eyebobs sunglasses

They are transparent.

Shipping takes a while

Although I liked the look and fit of the Eyebobs, I wasn’t a big fan of the long shipping time. After I placed the order, it took a couple of weeks for the glasses to finally arrive. If you need new glasses quickly and want to make your purchase from Eyebobs, be sure to place your order in a timely manner.

They are slightly transparent

Personally, I don’t like it when you can see a person’s eyes through sunglasses. Unfortunately, that was the case with the Eyebobs. If the lenses were just a little more opaque, I would have been happier with the look.

Is it worth buying sunglasses from Eyebob?

The fit may be a little loose.

Yes, provided they fit your face

Overall, Eyebobs is a great option for anyone looking for the perfect middle ground between price and quality. If you have trouble seeing outside because you always wear glasses, then these sunglasses are definitely worth buying.

However, since the Oversight sunglasses are designed for people with wider heads, the frame and size won’t suit everyone. It doesn’t matter how good a pair of glasses is – if they don’t fit properly, they’re not worth the money. These sunglasses are a great buy if wider lenses suit your head shape. They fit me quite well, but that’s because I have a wider than average head shape. People with narrower faces may want to look at Eyebob’s other frames before deciding.
