Fire alarm with three alarm levels paralyzes bar in New Jersey. Owners promise to rebuild.

A Level 3 fire broke out at the Angry Dad Draught House in Washington Township, Warren County on Saturday afternoon.

When Washington Township Fire Department responded to the bar and restaurant on Route 31 North at about 3:39 p.m., thick smoke and fire were pouring out of the second-floor eaves.

When emergency responders arrived, everyone was already out of the building and no injuries were reported.

A Washington Fire Department spokesman said Sunday that the fire was concentrated in the kitchen and attic.

Washington Township police, EMS and fire departments responded along with Oxford EMS and fire departments, as well as fire units from Washington Borough, Mansfield, Franklin Township, Hampton, Glen Gardner, High Bridge, Mountain Lake, Belvidere, Hackettstown and Phillipsburg.

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.

The building is uninhabitable in its current condition, the spokesman said.

It’s unclear when the Angry Dad Draught House will reopen, but the owners said in a message on their Facebook page that they will rebuild it.

“A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who witnessed the tragic events here at Angry Dad Draught House,” the post reads. “We are (grateful) to all the first responders who came and selflessly did everything they could to save what they could.”

“To all the employees who were working and to those who weren’t working who came out during the event to see if there was anything they could do to help: you guys are amazing,” the post continued. “To all the well-wishers we know and to those we don’t know: thank you for your love and prayers. Thankfully no employees or customers were hurt today. We will rebuild, we will be better, we may be down but we are not done yet.”
