First look at Reid Scott as the new detective (exclusive)

Veep Alumnus Reid Scott is working for law and order Season 23 premieres Thursday, January 18, at 8/7c on NBC.

TVLine brings you an exclusive first look at the actor in the upcoming season of the renowned Dick Wolf crime series, which you can watch above. See more photos of Scott in character below.

New details reveal that Scott will play Det. Vincent Riley, who is close to Lt. Kate Dixon (played by Camryn Manheim), who personally recruited him for the force.

Scott joins the law and order Family after it was announced in November 2023 that Jeffrey Donovan would not reprise his role as Det. Frank Cosgrove. (Donovan portrayed Cosgrove, a gruff New York detective with an old-fashioned mindset, in seasons 21 and 22.)

Scott will work with you Supergirl Alum Mehcad Brooks, who is in the law and order Ensemble in season 22 as Frank’s new partner Jalen Shaw.

The current cast also includes original series star Sam Waterston as respected prosecutor Jack McCoy, Hugh Dancy (Hannibal, The way) as Senior Assistant Prosecutor Nathan Price and Oldelya Halevi (Good trouble) as ADA Samantha Maroun.

Scott recently made a well-received appearance as fictional late-night talk show host Gordon Ford for The wonderful Mrs. Maisel last season. His other TV credits include American Horror Stories, The big C, Why women kill, My boys, The Secret Life of the American Teenager And American Dreams.
