Former Bucs player arrested for allegedly urinating on passenger during flight

There’s always something entertaining going on in the National Football League. Whether it’s plays on the field or happenings off the field, the league is always making headlines.

That’s exactly where former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive lineman Gosder Cherilus found himself after being arrested for disorderly conduct on a flight this weekend.

Cherilus reportedly boarded his Delta Airlines flight from Boston’s Logan International Airport to Dublin, Ireland. He reportedly boarded the flight intoxicated, argued with flight attendants about his seat, and about an hour into the flight urinated on an elderly passenger before striking another passenger, taking his seat, and eventually passing out.

The plane turned around and Cherilus was arrested at Logan International Airport. Delta released a statement disapproving of Cherilus’ actions and apologizing to the other passengers for the situation.

Cherilus apologized on Instagram after the incident, saying he “took a sleeping pill that I don’t normally take and that resulted in behavior that is out of character.”

Cherilus, a former first-round draft pick of the Detroit Lions in 2008, played nine seasons in the NFL with the Lions, Colts and Buccaneers, most recently appearing in the league in 2016.
