The Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office said the charges were filed after a comprehensive review of the evidence collected, the autopsy performed and information received from community members.

Mitchell died on Sunday, June 30. Milwaukee police said he entered the hotel, caused a disturbance and was escorted out by security. Video shows Erickson, Johnson-Carson, Turner and Williamson lying on top of Mitchell as he pleaded for help. Mitchell was unresponsive when police arrived.
