Four workers kidnapped from a hotel in Puerto Morelos remain missing

Puerto Morelos, QR — Four men linked to a hotel in Puerto Morelos have been reported missing. The four apparently disappeared in the same kidnapping on the same day.

On August 13, the four, who are reportedly hotel employees, were kidnapped from the Punta Brava area, about four kilometers west of Puerto Morelos. According to information available, several armed men arrived in the area in SUVs around noon on Tuesday.

The four men were in the hotel at the time of their disappearance. Relatives of the four missing people have filed an official missing persons report.

However, no police officers have been seen in the area since the reported kidnappings. There are surveillance cameras in Todo El Camino, part of the hotel zone. Local authorities have not made any public comment on the four missing men, other than to release an active missing persons file for each of them.

There are allegations that hotel staff who witnessed the kidnappings did not call emergency services and may be somehow connected to the criminal activities of the men who have now been kidnapped. In early July, another man from the same area was reported to have been kidnapped. He has not yet been found.
