Gallant to new soldiers: Israel prepares for escalation with Iran

Israel is preparing for an escalation, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant told the new soldiers who have joined the Kfir and Nahal Brigades on Sunday.

“Our enemies in Iran and Hezbollah are threatening to harm us in ways they have never tried before, but those who try will face a response from us like never before. We have significant capabilities and I hope they reconsider their decision and do not trigger war on additional fronts,” Gallant said.

He added: “I hope they will carefully consider their actions and avoid us doing things that cause significant damage and increase the likelihood of war breaking out on other fronts. These are things we don’t want, but we have to be prepared for them because they could happen.”

Visit to Netavim Air Base

Deputy Chief of Staff Major General Amir Baram said during a visit to Netavim Air Base: “The capabilities of the Israeli Air Force’s modern reconnaissance aircraft underscore the significance and importance of gaining a qualitative advantage over the enemy, especially in combination with the other capabilities of the Israeli Air Force,” the IDF reported.

He added: “The Israel Defense Forces continue to maintain a high level of readiness for various operational scenarios and will work to fill gaps while rapidly implementing lessons learned on fronts near and far.”
