Gardener reveals exact colors you should have in the garden to attract bees and butterflies

If you want to maintain the life cycle of your plants year after year, you should definitely attract bees and other pollinators to your garden.

On TikTok, Glen from Grow Den with Glen shared insights into which plant colors best attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators, ensuring a blooming seasonal cycle.

He explained: “Many insects can easily see shades of purple, red, pink, green and blue on the UV colour scale. That’s why you see so many pollinating insects like bees on so many of these colourful plants.

“These colors are extremely important and can really help the bees and butterflies focus on the colored plants they pollinate.”

Glen continued: “Don’t forget that there are other pollinators at night, such as moths, which like to land on white plants. This helps nocturnal insects to spot the plants from a distance,” reports the Mirror.

“It’s a great idea to get a real mix into your garden to create a bee highway. That will really help pollination in your garden and will also encourage pollination and real success of your fruits like apples and even things like plums.”

Friends of the Earth has recommended a range of bee-friendly plants for all seasons, including bright lavender, monarda (also known as bee balm), perennial wallflower and chives.

Other, less colorful plants that can also attract pollinators to your garden include sage, apple and wild apple, ivy and snowdrops. And it’s not just apples on the fruit list, strawberries and raspberries are also included, along with kale and broad beans.
