The Georgia Secretary of State stopped in Whitfield County to inspect voting machines.

He says it is his promise to ensure voter integrity ahead of the November election.

Raffensperger met with members of the Whitfield County Election Board to review the voting machines.

“Check that the machines are scanning and printing correctly, and then when you start counting the votes, make sure the results are actually correct,” he said.

The test run for counting votes was a scaled-down version of what officials expect on Election Day.

Raffensperger is conducting his second round of health checks.

He wants to visit counties in all four corners of the state.

“I have taken unprecedented steps to make sure every Georgian knows that we will have fair, honest and accurate elections here in Georgia,” Raffensperger said. “And no matter how you vote, it is now backed by a photo ID.”

According to Raffensperger, voters’ main concern this year is that only American citizens will vote.

He says they are checking the voter rolls and making sure they are correct.

His office is making preparations to ensure a successful election year while also keeping an eye on potential security risks.

“We believe we are ready. Of course, we are also looking at cybersecurity and some of the physical threats that we identified with the fentanyl powder that was sent to one of our district offices,” he said.

He also says that voter turnout is expected to be high this year.

“So we’re really preparing the counties. The counties have done a really good job of recruiting poll workers,” Raffensperger said. “Because if you and I show up in person and there are no poll workers there, it’s going to be a long day.”
