Darnay Holmes is injured. The fact that he is still in the game shows that his fate is sealed.

Giants inside the Jets 10-yard line, trailing 10-3. Dabes, if the Giants score, for heaven’s sake score 2 points.

The best defensive play of the night came from one of the guys on the field right at halftime when he threw a jet sweep after the ball was handed off.

Evan Neal fought his way from the sidelines at halftime. His left boot is open, so that appears to have caused him problems. It’s the same one he had surgery on in January.

The Giants trailed 10-3 at halftime after the Jets missed a field goal on the last play.

Jude McAtamney puts the Giants ahead with a 43-yard field goal. 10-3 Jets, 1:52 minutes left in the first half.

Tommy DeVito had Ford-Wheaton free downfield, didn’t see him and then threw him away when a Jets rusher broke through. Would have been a TD

Evan Neal’s return is questionable due to an ankle injury; Ovie Oghoufo has a hamstring injury. Oh well.
— Big Blue View (@bigblueview) 25 August 2024
Undrafted rookie OLB Ovie Oghoufo was injured in punt coverage. It looks like it could be his right thigh.

Austin Schlottman just got beat up on a sack of Tommy DeVito. Left prone by Leonard Taylor…then sacked again on the next play when the pocket collapsed…for the third play in a row. So much for all the praise for OL.

Darrian Beavers and Darnay Holmes with missed tackles on a 45-yard touchdown run by Israel Abanikanda

Tak McKinley just beat Evan Neal to the rim and ended the first quarter with a sack on his third attempt.

JMS is out due to an ankle injury.

John Michael Schmitz is up and walking around after having his right foot/ankle examined by trainers. He looks like he can move around just fine, but he’s probably done for the evening.
— Big Blue View (@bigblueview) 25 August 2024
The fact that veteran CB Darnay Holmes is playing the Giants’ first defensive series probably doesn’t bode well for his chances of making the 53-man roster.
— Big Blue View (@bigblueview) 24 August 2024
NYG DT Timmy Horne was carried off the field after a game without putting any weight on his left leg. Not good.
— Big Blue View (@bigblueview) 24 August 2024
The fact that UDFA Elijah Chatman was not in the starting lineup and is not being used as a replacement for Horne shows that he will be included in the squad.
— Big Blue View (@bigblueview) 24 August 2024
Ayir Asante brings the opening kickoff from the end zone over the 40-yard line, loses the ball and the Jets recover. From a big game to a disaster for the UDFA.

I’m in the building, so I’m not complaining.
EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ — The New York Giants face the New York Jets in their final preseason game Saturday night at MetLife Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET, with the Jets as the “home team” in this annual game.
It looks like the Giants’ starting linemen will not play. The Jets had previously announced that their starting linemen would not play.
That means this will be a battle of the substitutes as players from both teams will look to make a positive final impression, with cuts to be made from 90 to 53 players by Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET.
Tommy DeVito may play the entire game on Saturday. Backup quarterback Drew Lock is recovering from a hip injury and will only be used in an emergency. When the starters aren’t playing, Daniel Jones will watch in a baseball cap. DeVito is looking forward to the opportunity.
There are questions about the roster at nearly every position. Here’s a look at the bubble players at each position on the Giants’ 90-man roster. Here’s a look at some of the players we’re most excited to see on Saturday night. Here’s everything you need to know to watch, listen and bet on the game.
