The Hansi Flick era at FC Barcelona continues with the wind at its back and full sails. On Saturday, Culés secured its second victory against Athletic Club (2-1), a match in which the Barcelona group was ahead from start to finish. The German coach repeated his team from the first day, with the exception of Pedri González in place of Marc Casadó. The presence of the Canarian gave the team more volume and in the end the victory remained a home victory thanks to the many goals from Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski.

Lamine opened the scoring in the 24th minute with a left-footed shot from the edge of the penalty area. The winger collected a free kick from the Bilbao defence and took advantage of poor marking from Nico Williams to shoot at goal. Goalkeeper Padilla looked to have the shot under control, but the ball deflected off Lekue’s head and into the net. In the 75th minute, Lewandowski scored the 2-1 with a shot almost from the penalty spot into the empty goalby taking advantage of a punch from the visitors’ goalkeeper after a cross from Pedri from the left. Athletic had previously equalised in the 42nd minute thanks to a penalty converted by Oihan Sancet. The VAR cautioned Cubarsí for a foul on Berenguer and asked Gil Manzano to award the maximum penalty.
