Hotel in southern Oregon voted best bed and breakfast in the USA

The Winchester Inn in Ashland was voted Best Bed & Breakfast in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

Combining history and elegance, this boutique hotel in the Rogue Valley offers a luxurious historic overnight experience in downtown Ashland. The building was built as a private home in 1886 and converted to a hotel in 1983.

The Winchester Inn has a total of 21 rooms and suites. Each room offers amenities such as fresh flowers, afternoon pastries, plush terrycloth robes and toiletries.

Alchemy Restaurant and Bar is located on-site and offers craft cocktails and an award-winning wine list. Across the street is the hotel’s sister restaurant, Chateaubriand 36, a French-inspired steakhouse.

The Winchester Inn is just blocks from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Guests receive discounted OSF tickets. OSF offers more than eight months of plays, behind-the-scenes tours and educational programs.

There are more than 150 wineries in Southern Oregon from Roseburg to Ashland, and the Winchester Inn is just steps from nearby wineries. When staying at the Inn, guests will receive a map of the area with details of nearby wineries and their locations.

Ashland and Southern Oregon offer year-round recreational opportunities. Hiking and biking trails are just minutes from downtown, and whitewater rafting is available on nearby rivers. In the winter, skiing and snowboarding can be enjoyed on Mount Ashland.
