The law and order Brand expands.

iHeartPodcasts, Universal Television (UTV) and Wolf Entertainment have announced Law & Order: Criminal Justice Systeman unscripted true crime series that expands the successful brand to audio and marks the first foray into investigative journalism. The deal is for four seasons of 12 episodes each. The podcast will premiere on Thursday, August 22 and will be available on the iHeartRadio app and wherever podcasts are available. Law & Order: Criminal Justice System is hosted by former Brooklyn-based murder prosecutor Anna-Sigga Nicolazzi. Season 1 delves into the world of the American Mafia in New York City and tells the true story of the downfall of the most notorious criminal organization in history. Set against the turbulent backdrop of 1979, it shows how an unlikely team of young local police officers and prosecutors worked tirelessly to break the Mafia’s iron grip on the city.

The season begins with the assassination of Carmine Galante, a powerful boss of the Bonanno crime family. The murder became a cornerstone of the Mafia Trial, the pivotal case that crippled organized crime in the United States and ended the Mafia’s golden era. Each episode will uncover the events leading up to this victory for the justice system, providing first-hand accounts of the investigations, surveillance, litigation and personal sacrifices of those on the front lines.

The podcast will be released before the return of the law and order Shows for new seasons: the original with its 24th season and SVU with the 26th episode on NBC on Thursday, October 3, and Organized crime with his fifth moving to Peacock (premiere date not yet announced).
