How to order a Matt James Special at Windsor Fair

I’m admittedly not a real expert. However, there are a few things that I know quite a bit about and sometimes show off my knowledge on. One of those things is the Boston Celtics’ stats and the other is, of course, chicken tenders.

You often hear us talk on the radio about how the “only” thing I eat is chicken tenders and fries. And it’s true that I eat my “fair” share of those, but it’s not ALL that I eat. I’ve also been known to dabble in Fluffernutters and breakfast sandwiches.

However, when we talk about my limited palate, all of this is actually true. I have never eaten pizza, a burger, a steak, lasagna, shepherd’s pie, hot dogs, soup, Alfredo… the list of foods I have never tried is endless. And now that I’m a little older, I actually believe I have a diagnosable case of ARFID – but that’s a story for another time.

What I’m saying is that I consider myself an expert when it comes to chicken tenders, so much so that a local (and very popular) food truck actually named a menu item after me.

Last year during Camp Out Hunger, our big food drive for the Salvation Army, the Bowlicious Food Truck came by for a week to sell their delicious bites and smoothies.

This week I learned that Bowlicious also offers incredibly delicious crispy chicken strips and thick golden fries. After ordering them every day for five days, Toby (the owner) asked me if they could name the dish after me. I was speechless.

And so the Matt James Tender Special was born. It’s been on their menu since last November and I can’t tell you how many times friends have tagged me in pictures of their menu.

So if you want to try a bite of mine this week, you can do so right here at Windsor Fair. Go through Gate 2 (the main gate), turn right and Bowlicious is immediately on the right.

Tell them Matt sent you!
