How to watch the Kingsman movies in the right order

Manners make the man. And they also make for a damn entertaining film series.

For almost a decade Kingsman Series became the new kid on the block to make the overly serialized Daniel Craig era James Bond Movies are shaking (not stirring) in their boots. The Matthew Vaughn-directed feature film trilogy, based on the comic book series of the same name by Mark Millar, offers an ultra-brutal yet stylish twist on the spy genre.

What began as a spy story about a wily teenager (Taron Egerton) who becomes the protégé of a veteran spy (Colin Firth) for a prestigious King Arthur-based agency evolved into a hugely successful series. Each entry pitted these British spies against villains who looked like they were straight out of a Saturday morning cartoon—and added a healthy dose of history revision. The films starred popular actors as the films’ colorful characters, including Sofia Boutella as an evil metal-legged assassin, a lisping Samuel L. Jackson as a tech titan, Julianne Moore as a country drug queen, Elton John as himself, and Pedro Pascal as a cowboy agent named Whiskey with an electric lasso. Most importantly, the franchise made a star out of then-newcomer Taron Egerton.

With the first two Kingsman Entries, The Secret Service And The Golden Circle currently streaming on Netflix and its prequel The King’s Man on Hulu, the uninitiated might be curious where to start with the spy movies. How do you start in the timeline? How do you watch the Kingsman Films in order of release? Here you will find out everything you need to know about the Kingsman Franchise.

While Eggsy undergoes a rigorous training competition, billionaire villain Valentine (Samuel L. Jackson) and his metallic-legged right-hand muscleman Gazelle (Sofia Boutella) threaten to wipe out humanity by using free SIM cards and a satellite signal to unleash deadly violence among people around the world. With time running out, the Kingsman must defeat the duo before the world’s population is decimated.

As a full-fledged Kingsman agent, Eggsy has evolved and taken the name Galahad from the late Harry Hart. But his honeymoon doesn’t last long as missiles destroy the entire Kingsman base, killing some members. Eggsy and Merlin (Mark Strong) head to the US to their American division, the Statesman, to seek refuge and find more allies in Ginger Ale (Halle Berry), Tequila (Channing Tatum), Champagne (Jeff Bridges) and Whiskey (Pedro Pascal). They also find out that the one-eyed Harry Hart, who suffers from amnesia, is alive. The British and American intelligence services must team up and stop a new threat in the form of Poppy Adams (Julianne Moore), the world’s richest drug criminal, who has bombed their base. She has also kidnapped Elton John. Time for some action for the Kingsman and Statesman.

The origins of the Kingsman organization date back a full century before Eggsy and Harry’s adventures. In this prequel, Orlando Oxford (Ralph Fiennes) creates an independent intelligence agency dedicated to fighting global threats. During World War I, Oxford, his son Conrad (Harris Dickinson), maid Polly (Gemma Arterton) and butler Shola (Djimon Hounsou) work to end the war. In their efforts, they clash with many historical figures, including Rasputin (Rhys Ifans).

How can I watch all the Kingsman movies in chronological order?

The films in the Kingsman series can be viewed in the following order depending on the time period in which they are set: The King’s Man, Kingsman: The Secret Serviceand finally Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

A fourth film in the series, Kingman 3is in development, Vaughn told ETimes in 2022 while promoting The King’s Man release. “Kingman 3…is about the end of the relationship between Eggsy and Harry,” he said, also teasing a sequel to The King’s Man and possibly another film in the series. “It’s up to everyone out there – if they keep watching, we’ll make more.”

At the New York Comic Con in October 2023, Vaughn confirmed Kingman 3 is definitely still on his to-do list, along with the Kick in the ass Restart.

“We must continue with Kingman 3because I joked that Colin would end up being a supporting portrait while Taron would be Arthur,” he said. “So we’re working on that at the moment.”

The mid-credits scene at the end of Vaughn’s 2024 film Argyll also suggests that there may be a King’s Man – The King’s Man/Kingsman Connection to Henry Cavill’s title character, as the pub shown in the flashback “20 years earlier” is called “The King’s Man.”
