We are now in the middle of the Democratic National Convention. Delegates from across the country have arrived in Chicago, where Kamala Harris and Tim Walz will formally accept the party’s nomination for president and vice president in the 2024 presidential race. It will be one of the first major events for the Harris ticket since President Joe Biden dropped out of the race and endorsed the vice president. Harris is the first black woman and the first Indian-American in the country’s history to be nominated as a major party’s presidential candidate.
The main event Monday night was President Joe Biden, who vigorously defended his presidency in a speech that capped his more than 50-year career in politics. Other speakers included former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Speakers on Tuesday included Barack Obama, Michelle Obama and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff.
Speakers on Wednesday include Tim Walz, who will accept the party’s nomination for vice president. Former President Bill Clinton and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will also deliver speeches. The main program runs from approximately 6:30 p.m. ET to 11 p.m. ET.

The Democratic National Convention will be broadcast by most major networks, including ABC, CBS, CNN, C-SPAN, Fox, NBC, MSNBC, PBS, and more. The Democratic National Convention is held in Chicago, Illinois. The majority of the event takes place at the United Center, with some activities taking place at the McCormick Place Convention Center.
In addition to 5,000 delegates and alternates, the multi-day event will also feature key Democratic figures speaking. President Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama delivered addresses, and former President Bill Clinton and vice presidential candidate Tim Walz will speak tonight.
