ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued a written order on former First Lady Bushra Bibi’s petition against her arrest in the fresh Toshakhana case.

The written order was issued by Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb and Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir of the Supreme Court in Islamabad.

The order states that objections to Bushra Bibi’s motion for arrest in the new Toshakhana case have been withdrawn. According to the plaintiff’s lawyer, this motion is linked to two other pending motions.

The Court found that two lawsuits against summonses with the same reference had already been scheduled for trial.

In its order, the court stated that this petition was directed against the continued arrests by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). The counsel pointed out that this and the other two petitions involved similar facts and legal issues.

The IHC’s written order stated that the court, in agreement with counsel’s submission, was of the view that this application should be heard along with the other two applications.

The Registrar was directed to send the file relating to this application to the Chief Justice for a joint hearing.

The court further stated that, according to the plaintiff’s lawyer, the issue of arrest required an immediate resolution and the Chief Justice could schedule an expedited hearing of the motions.
