IHG enters Vietnam’s Quang Binh with two hotel deals

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a multi-hotel agreement, marking its entry into Vietnam’s Quang Binh province.

This contract for the two hotels was signed with Hai Thanh Hung Investment and Vietnam Royal Investment and Construction.

It includes the development of the voco Quang Binh Resort with 68 villas and the Crowne Plaza Quang Binh City Centre with 232 rooms.

Chris Anklin, Senior Director, Southeast Asia and Korea, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “It is wonderful to be expanding into Quang Binh – an exciting new destination for IHG in Vietnam. Working with our partners to create new tourism experiences is a perfect example of our intention to have hotels in the right locations with the right owners.”

“We continue to grow in Vietnam and will more than double our size to over 40 hotels across the country in the next few years.”

Scheduled to open next year, voco Quang Binh Resort will join voco Ma Belle Danang, strengthening IHG’s presence in Vietnam.

The property will offer amenities such as restaurants, bars, swimming pools, a kids club and a spa.

Crowne Plaza Quang Binh City Centre is located near government and commercial buildings in Dong Hoi and will open in late 2025.

The hotel will feature several dining options, meeting rooms, a fitness center, a spa and an executive lounge.

It will be part of the Royal Landmark mixed-use project and will be located near Dong Hoi Airport and Hanoi Noi Bai International Airport.

Anklin added: “Centrally located in the city centre, Crowne Plaza Quang Binh City Centre offers purpose-built spaces to work and relax that appeal to the modern traveller, while voco Quang Binh Resort, with its thoughtful, casual and charming atmosphere, will become one of the leading beach resorts in the area.

“This destination debut will strengthen the presence of our brand portfolio in Vietnam and offer stay experiences for every type of traveler.”

IHG currently has 18 hotels from six brands in Vietnam and has another 26 properties in planning.

Last month, IHG Hotels & Resorts signed a management agreement with Geelan Residency for its first hotel in the Kashmir region of India.
