Here is a recent WNBA story from the Associated Press:

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indianapolis will host the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game for the first time on July 19 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the league announced Wednesday.

This summer’s game was the All-Star team’s game against the US Olympic team and took place in front of a sold-out crowd of 16,407 at the Footprint Center in Phoenix. 3.44 million television viewers watched the All-Stars’ 117-109 victory in the most-watched WNBA All-Star Game on July 20.

“The city of Indianapolis and the entire state of Indiana have such an incredible and enduring passion for the sport of basketball that the region is the perfect host to celebrate the WNBA and the sport’s biggest stars,” said WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert.

On July 18th there will be a 3-point shooting competition and a skills test.

The Indiana Fever, fueled by the excitement surrounding rookie sensation Caitlin Clark, is at the heart of the WNBA’s dramatic rise in popularity this year. The Fever leads the WNBA with an average attendance of nearly 17,000, and 10 of its games have set league TV viewership records.

“We are in the midst of a pivotal, transformative moment in the history of the WNBA and women’s basketball, and we are thrilled that Indiana will be at the center of it all, with the game’s biggest stars appearing in next season’s All-Star Game,” said Mel Raines, CEO of Pacers Sports & Entertainment.

“Our community leaders will do what they do best: welcome fans from across the country and the world to Indiana, raise the bar for future host cities and leave a lasting legacy for our city and state.”
