Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner, a Mets fan, enjoy a ball game at Citi Field with their son Joseph

Ivanka Trump is no longer busy with her father’s presidential candidacy and watched the New York Mets’ 2024 campaign with her family at Citi Field on Sunday.

Ivanka, her husband Jared Kushner and their soon-to-be 11-year-old son Joseph attended the Mets’ 3-2 loss to the Miami Marlins on Sunday.

Most importantly, Joseph got to meet several Mets stars, including shortstop Francisco Lindor and left fielder Brandon Nimmo. The family even got to go into the Mets dugout once.

Ivanka wore a beige vest and shorts, while Kushner wore his Mets cap and long-sleeved T-shirt. Young Joseph wore a Mets T-shirt with the number 24 on the front. The number 24 was retired by the Mets in favor of Willie Mays, who died earlier this year after finishing his Hall of Fame career in Queens in 1973.

With this loss, the Mets are now 4-6 in their last ten games and are two games behind the Atlanta Braves in the National League wild card standings.

Ivanka’s father, Donald, is a longtime Yankees fan, although he is from Queens and attended elementary school in nearby Kew Gardens. Donald and the late Yankees owner George Steinbrenner were also close friends.

Trump had previously boasted about his time as a player at X: “I played football and baseball, sorry, but they say I’m the best basketball player in New York State.”

Leander Schaerlaeckens of Slate subsequently uncovered nine game reports from Trump’s high school games in which he hit 4 of 29 home runs.

Trump said his baseball career was derailed when he attended a tryout with “another young guy named Willie McCovey.” However, the late Hall of Famer and legendary Giants hitter was born in Alabama in 1938 – eight years before Trump in Queens – making the claim unlikely.

Born in New Jersey, Kushner is a Mets fan, as he told New York Magazine in 2006 when he bought the New York Observer for $10 million at age 25. (Kushner sold his stake in the paper to his family’s trust in 2017 when he began working for Donald in the White House, and the Observer is now just a website.)

Ivanka and Kushner also took their sons to a Mets game last August.

And just like in 2023, Ivanka posted about the trip on social media. This time, the pictures included shots of Joseph with Lindor as well as a few pictures from the dugout.

Kusher, who describes himself as a “husband, father” and “Mets fan” in his Instagram bio, has been involved in real estate projects in the Balkans.

In addition to construction work in Belgrade, Serbia, Kusher hopes to transform part of Albania into a luxury resort.
