Sarah Palin could soon lose her title as the worst vice presidential candidate in modern times.

With JD Vance as Donald Trump’s vice presidential candidate for 2024, it is likely that the Ohio senator will succeed the former Alaska governor.

In fact, the two have a number of surprising similarities. For example, both were popular at the start of their campaigns. Palin was even considered to be an energizer of the Republican base when she debuted, before her eventual fall from grace.

Vance, Chief Creative and Content Officer of the Daily Beast, sees the same development Joanna Coles told The new abnormal in this week’s podcast.

“Where do I begin with JD Vance, the Sarah Palin of this campaign,” says Coles, before listing a series of Vance’s faux pas that led to his own downfall; as recent polls show he is officially more unpopular than Palin ever was.

“He’s a strange character they’ve chosen, and I think he’s actually going to cost them dearly with white men.” Coles adds: “What has he been doing for the last four years? He seems to have done nothing but make weird fringe podcasts that are now coming back to haunt the Republican Party.”
