Jet2 asks passengers not to come to the airport as flights to Greek island have been cancelled

Jet2 has advised travellers not to go to the airport if they are flying to a Greek island hit by bad weather. The airline said it was sorry but all flights would be cancelled and rescheduled today (Friday 10 May).

Jet2 flies to Skiathos from Bristol, Birmingham, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, London Stansted, Newcastle and Manchester airports.

Jet2 said: “If you are travelling to Skiathos today, please do not go to the airport. If you have already gone to the airport, we advise you to return home if possible and come back to the airport tomorrow 3 hours before your new departure time.

“If you are unable to make your way home, please speak to a member of our friendly Red Team at the airport who will be happy to assist you.” Jet2 said it is also contacting passengers in Skiathos who were due to return home today.

The airline added: “We apologise for this change which is unfortunately beyond our control. If you are travelling to Skiathos today, we have sent you full details of the change and your options to your booking email address.

“It is rare that our schedules are disrupted in this way. While we have no control over this change, we understand that this may disrupt your plans at the last minute, so we have done everything in our power to ensure we operate as quickly as possible and minimize the delay.

“We have a huge team working hard behind the scenes at our UK headquarters monitoring the situation. On behalf of all of us, we would like to apologise again for any inconvenience this delay is causing.”
