Joshua Kagan, international trade attorney at Kelley Drye, appointed to the U.S. State Department’s Advisory Committee on Responsible Business Conduct

WASHINGTON, 21 August 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Kelley Drye is pleased to announce that Joshua KaganSpecial Counsel in the Firm’s International Trade Division, was appointed to the U.S. Department of State’s newly formed Advisory Committee on Responsible Business Conduct.

The U.S. Department of State announced the creation of the Advisory Committee on Responsible Business Conduct (RBC Advisory Committee) on 15 August 2024The mission of the RBC Advisory Committee is to provide advice and recommendations to help the U.S. government advance responsible business practices, including in the context of labor and human rights.

The Committee has a diverse membership representing businesses, trade unions, civil society organizations, academic institutions and more. The Committee’s Charter is valid until September 2025 and may be extended. The group will play a key role in shaping U.S. policy on responsible business conduct during this period.

Before joining Kelley DryeJosh served as Deputy USTR for Labor Affairs, directing the United States Trade Representative’s (USTR) Office of Labor Affairs.

In this role, Josh led all labor-related trade policy for the U.S. Government, oversaw negotiations on all labor commitments in U.S. trade agreements, and served as the lead U.S. Government official in identifying key labor challenges and trade compliance issues for over 200 countries around the world.
