Jürgen Klopp gives new insights into his next career step after leaving Liverpool

Jürgen Klopp says that resigning after leaving Liverpool is “out of the question”.

The German ended his nine-year, trophy-laden tenure at Anfield earlier this month after shocking the football world in January by announcing that he would leave the club at the end of the season.

Arne Slot has replaced him on Merseyside and the Reds are preparing for a new era, but what Klopp will do next is far less clear.

When the 56-year-old announced his departure, he said he was “running out of energy” and ruled out ever coaching an English club again given his strong ties to Liverpool.

Klopp hinted that he would retire from coaching for about a year and has moved to the Spanish island of Mallorca after buying a villa there.

Speaking to the Willipedia podcast (via BILD), Klopp said of his decision to move to Spain: “I’ve dreamed of having a house in the south all my life. I like the weather, the climate, I like the people.”

“There are a lot of things here that I like and people that I already know. It’s not like I’m looking for new friends. I already have friends for life and if some of them are here too, that’s cool.”

When asked about his plans to return to football, Klopp replied: “There is no question that I will stop working altogether.”

“But I don’t see myself continuing at the same pace as before.”
