Kamala Harris continued her presidential campaign on Friday with a rally in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she presented her economic policy program, which includes price controls and profiteering. The US vice president and Democratic candidate wore a tailored suit, returning to the blue style that has become a trademark of her campaign.
Harris’ suit featured a blazer with double pockets, sharp lapels and stitching. She accessorized with a pearl necklace, another signature of her style, and a US flag pin.
Although Harris has recently been seen wearing neutral colors and a purple suit, blue was the dominant color in her wardrobe during her presidential campaign. The color particularly represents the Democratic Party.
Harris began a cross-country tour on Aug. 6 after Minnesota Governor Tim Walz was announced as the official Democratic vice presidential nominee. On Thursday, Harris visited Maryland, where she held a rally alongside President Joe Biden.
Harris began her presidential campaign on July 21 after President Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race. Since then, the candidate has attracted social media attention with her campaign aimed at Generation Z.
According to Launchmetrics, the Harris Walz campaign generated a total of $15.9 million in media value within 48 hours of the viral “Brat” rebrand – a metric developed by Launchmetrics that assigns a real monetary value to print, online and social media marketing strategies to calculate ROI. The campaign also found success with the release of the “Harris Walz” camouflage hat, inspired by Chappell Roan’s “Midwest Princess” merchandise, which generated “millions of dollars” in less than 24 hours.
On August 19, Harris will open the Democratic Party Convention in Chicago. Around 5,000 delegates are expected to attend the four-day event, including former US Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.
