Kehlani obtains restraining order against ex-Javaughn Young-White

Singer Kehlani obtained a restraining order against her ex Javaughn Young-White on Friday after accusing him of physical, verbal and emotional abuse.

The “After Hours” singer, who uses the pronouns “she” and “them,” filed a motion in Los Angeles Superior Court last week to protect herself and her 5-year-old daughter, Adeya, from Young-White’s erratic behavior, according to court documents obtained by Page Six on Tuesday.

In their lawsuit, they alleged that Young-White had abused them for years, including during her pregnancy, but they finally decided to seek a restraining order after an incident in mid-June in which he allegedly became “angry” and “smashed down their locked bedroom doors in a fit of rage.”

Kehlani, 29, said Young-White called them “sluts” and “liars” and accused them of luring him into a trap with their child.

They claimed their ex became angry when they learned he had applied for welfare and asked him about it. At the time, he was allegedly living on their property and doing nothing but “smoking marijuana all day, every day” and taking psychedelics.

In her lawsuit, Kehlani also accused Young-White of disappearing for months and of lacking “personal hygiene and self-care.”

“If he leaves our daughter in his care, she will be returned dirty and smelling of marijuana,” they complained.

Kehlani further described his allegedly turbulent behavior as follows: “He is emotionally unwell and appears to suffer from periods of despair and frequent tirades of uncontrollable anger and rage.”

“When he gets excited, he can’t stop moving and throws his arms in the air while yelling and screaming at me. He often throws objects and calls me terrible names.”

The two-time Grammy nominee said his behavior “scares” them and he could “imagine it being very disturbing for a small child.”

They said they only allowed him to stay on their property temporarily because he constantly “promised to be a better father” and they wanted to do their best to enable him to have a relationship with their child.

But after five years of “chaos and abuse,” they no longer believe he can change and want to protect their peace and that of Adeya.

The temporary restraining order will expire at the conclusion of a hearing on September 3, which will take place at 8:30 a.m.

Kehlani’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The musician filed his motion days after Young-White sought sole custody of Adeya, claiming they were members of a “cult.”

In his filing, obtained by Page Six, he claimed that the cult leader controlled Kehlani’s “actions and behavior,” including the upbringing of her child.

He said the so-called “cult” was the reason Kehlani did not put him on Adeya’s birth certificate and allegedly did not allow him to see her “for months.”

However, Kehlani hit back on social media following her ex-partner’s divorce.

“What has been published in the media over the last 24 hours is incredibly hurtful, inaccurate, inappropriate and simply untrue,” they wrote on Instagram.

“I strongly deny any allegations that I have exposed my child to danger or left him or her alone with a person considered dangerous or unsafe.”

Kehlani and Young-White were together from 2018 to 2019.

In March 2019 they gave birth to their daughter.
