To help children develop community understanding and drive social change – both virtually and in real life – Nickelodeon has partnered with anti-poverty nonprofit Comic Relief US to launch its second annual Kids Relief campaign.

Kids Relief is a year-round program that encourages young people to create positive change in their communities. It raises funds for initiatives that promote empowerment and leadership, provide access to education, and create economic growth opportunities that help children and families break the cycle of poverty for themselves and future generations.

For the second year in a row, the social gaming platform Roblox is the focus of the campaign and offers numerous brand new experiences.

A Child Care Simulator (pictured) started this year, with Tony Hale in the lead role (Arrested development), David Tennant (Dr. Who) and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan (To redden) as wizards who send players on missions to perform good deeds, earn karma and improve the world around them. The new game builds on the success of last year’s Solarpunk Simulator Play with influencers and celebrities popular with kids like Jack Black.

Following the simulator, there is a scavenger hunt played through experiences built into Nickelodeon games SpongeBob Simulator And Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Battle Tycoonas well as Highland Park RP And HyperCat by Roblox creator WondieRB. In Roblox from August 30 to September 13, players will learn the importance of doing good and collect magical surprises along the way.

On the weekend of September 13/14, music groups such as Imagine Dragons, Conan Gray, Poppy, d4vd and Alexander Stewart will be the stars of an interactive virtual Roblox concert.

Kids Relief is also leveraging Nick’s social change initiative, Our World, to launch new programs, including a project idea generator and guide for projects to beautify neighborhoods, promote street safety, recycle clothing and help children fight cancer.

And finally, popular gamers, streamers and influencers from YouTube, Twitch, Instagram and TikTok – including Roblox creators Leah Ashe and MeganPlays– will advertise and raise funds throughout the campaign.
