LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA — Several Los Angeles Chargers players who were playing in Saturday’s preseason game against the Cowboys in Dallas became stuck in a broken elevator at the team hotel last night.
The players and other members of their group were rescued by firefighters and no injuries were reported.
“On Friday night at approximately 7:30 p.m. CT, several players and members of the Chargers’ travel party became trapped in a malfunctioning elevator at the team hotel. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the incident and subsequently assisted everyone one-by-one to exit the elevator through the ceiling panel and into an adjacent elevator,” the Chargers posted on X on Friday night.

Local Dallas station WFAA.com reported that about 15 people were trapped in a “dead shaft” in the elevator of the Westin hotel in downtown Dallas.

ESPN reported that Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh invited Dallas Fire-Rescue employees to the team dining room for a meal afterward.
The Chargers’ game against the Cowboys is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. Pacific Time. They look for their first preseason win after two losses.
