LB Joe Andreessen reacts to being added to the Bills squad, new QB Mike White remembers broken ribs in the game against Buffalo

“There’s still a lot to do, a lot to prove, not only to myself but to my teammates, because I’ve been given a chance to be on this team and help this team win. So, yeah, there’s no security in this league, so I’ve got to keep going out here, working every day, putting good stuff on video and doing everything I can.”

Andreessen was invited to attend Buffalo’s rookie minicamp along with 12 undrafted rookies and 25 other tryout players after the NFL Draft. The 24-year-old didn’t know what to expect, but he used that weekend to put his best foot forward. Now, in August, Andreessen is the only one from that group to be named to the Bills’ active roster.

“I came here to try to prove that I can play football, but to say there were no doubts or anything like that would be a lie… I believe in myself. I’m just happy that everything worked out,” he said.

With the goal of making the team now accomplished, Andreessen said he is fully focused on getting a win in Week 1.

“God willing, I have to play for this team on Sunday,” he said. “And I’ve been a fan of this team for a while, so maybe I have even more at stake than the average player. I want this team to win, I want this organization to win.”
