NASA and Boeing have been collecting data on the Starliner spacecraft’s propulsion and helium systems both in space and on the ground to better understand ongoing technical challenges. The review includes a mission status update, a review of technical data and closure actions, and confirmation of flight authority for undocking and return from the space station.

NASA’s Boeing Crew Flight Test launched June 5 on a ULA (United Launch Alliance) Atlas V rocket from Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. It is an end-to-end test of the Starliner system as part of the agency’s Commercial Crew Program. By partnering with America’s private sector, NASA is opening access to low Earth orbit and the space station to more people, science and commercial opportunities.
