Leaks about the Apple iPhone 16 Pro suggest a new gold color option and design optimizations; see details

The rumor mill is abuzz with leaks about Apple’s upcoming iPhone 16 series, which is expected to launch in September. Recent leaks suggest possible design changes and a new color option for the iPhone 16 Pro models.

Four color options revealed

Informant Sonny Dickson (@SonnyDickson) shared an image on X (formerly Twitter) showing dummy units of the iPhone 16 Pro in four color variants: black, white, gold, and gray or titanium. Although the official names have not been confirmed, it is likely that Apple will retain the “Titanium” branding of the iPhone 15 Pro series.

New gold replaces blue titanium

The leaked image suggests that the new gold color option could replace the Blue Titanium shade currently available in the iPhone 15 Pro lineup. This is in line with previous predictions from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who suggested that the iPhone 16 Pro models would come in black, white (or silver), gray, and a new shade of pink that would replace the existing blue.

Design optimizations

The image also hints at possible design changes, including a possible increase in size compared to previous models and diagonally arranged rear cameras.

Rumored specifications

Other rumored specifications for the iPhone 16 Pro include:

A18 Pro chip

Display size increased from 6.1 inches to 6.27 inches

3.577mAh battery

Support for 40W wired charging

20W wireless charging via MagSafe

As September approaches and anticipation builds for the official unveiling of the iPhone 16 lineup, these leaks provide a glimpse of what Apple could have in store, with a possible focus on design improvements and an expanded color palette for its flagship Pro models.
