Long Island school principal arrested for harassing her ex and threatening her new boyfriend

A Long Island school principal was arrested for harassing his ex and threatening to “take down” her new boyfriend during disturbing outbursts outside her Manhattan home last month, prosecutors said.

Shannon Burton, the principal of Milton L. Olive Middle School in Wyandanch, called his former girlfriend and allegedly fumed: “I’m going to fuck your boyfriend. Wait until I get him. How can you do this to me? You’re fucking that guy,” a criminal complaint states on July 25.

According to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, Burton made 15 more phone calls to his ex and rang her doorbell several times over the course of several hours – after he mysteriously found out her address.

The former couple separated at the end of 2023.

In a phone call, the accused villain said, “I just saw you leaving your apartment,” as she walked out the door with her boyfriend.

Burton, 44, is also said to have scratched the woman’s car and repeatedly banged on the door of her Upper East Side apartment.

Prosecutors said they called police several times during these terrifying episodes, but when they arrived, Burton fled.

When her lover left for work in the morning, Burton is said to have cornered him on the street.

“Did you just leave her apartment? Are you guys going to fuck? I just need to talk to her,” Burton demanded during the hair-raising encounter – whereupon his terrified ex called the police.

When police arrived, Burton allegedly ran away from them and crawled under cars before eventually being handcuffed.

During his arrest, he blurted out, “How would you react if you saw your girlfriend with another man?” and admitted that he had been “fooling around” with his ex all night, prosecutors said.

Burton, of Yonkers, was charged with aggravated harassment and a Manhattan judge ordered him to stay away from his ex.

According to News 12 Long Island, he had previously been the subject of an investigation for grade fixing.

Burton was only rehired at the school last month, the broadcaster reported.

Since his arrest, Burton has been required to work from home while the school district conducts an internal investigation, the outlet reported.

Burton could not be reached for comment Wednesday evening.
