Made by Google Live Blog: New Pixel phones, smartwatches, Gemini and more

Pixel fans, your Now the time has come. Google will hold an event today where the company will fully unveil its next line of flagship phones and accompanying accessories.

The event, called “Made by Google,” will take place at Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, California. The “Made by” in the event’s name refers to the hardware, as this will be the showcase of all new products from its in-house hardware brand, Pixel. Google will showcase the latest versions of its flagship Pixel smartphones – including regular and Pro models, a larger XL model, and the foldable version – as well as new Pixel smartwatches and Pixel earbuds.

You can read our full report on what to expect from Made by Google. And if you’re wondering how we can be so sure about what Google will reveal, well, the leaks have been all over the place this year. First photos and specs of the phones leaked, then images of the watch, and three weeks before the event, Google even released a short video officially teasing the Pixel 9 Pro handset. Of course, we also expect Gemini – Google’s artificially intelligent chatbot and assistant – to be a big part of today’s announcements. Google showed off a lot of what Gemini is capable of at its I/O developer conference earlier this year, but we can expect to see some Pixel-exclusive Gemini features today.

Get ready for the presentation to begin at 10am Pacific, 1pm Eastern Time, 18:00 British Summer TimeWe can expect the “Made by Google” event to last approximately 75 to 80 minutes.

WIRED has some reporters on site at Google headquarters today. This live blog will begin about 30 minutes before the presentation begins, and you’ll see all the text replaced with live updates. We’ll be publishing updates and analysis throughout the event, while also providing the necessary context to contextualize the statements and announcements made by Google executives on stage.

So we’ll see you back here at 9:30 a.m. Pacific Time for a half hour of pregame talk and (if we’re all lucky) a few photos of the free baked goods and vegan breakfast burritos offered to the media in attendance. Then the main show starts at 10 a.m. See you then!
