The button-down piece is perfect for cool fall evenings and can be worn as a one-piece or over an outfit for a cozy vibe.

It comes in two beautiful neutral colors, gray and beige, so the piece can be worn with almost anything and is guaranteed to still look good.

The vest features a button placket at the front and is cut off at the shoulders to create a sleeveless look.

The retail price is only €36 and it is currently available in sizes XS to XL.

Fashion bosses described the autumnal piece as a “wardrobe staple.”

An official description of the piece reads: “Add a cozy layer to your winter outfits with this knitted vest.”

“Designed in an easy regular fit, it features a comfortable round neck and a pretty full-length button closure.

“This sleeveless piece is made from cloud yarn for a lightweight feel and a comfortable, textured finish.

“M&S collection: easy-to-wear wardrobe basics that combine classic and modern style.”

And the vest has received a glowing review from one enthusiastic shopper who called it “a very useful purchase.”

I am a curvy woman in a size 14 and have found the most flattering finds at F&F – the shorts and skirts are perfect for bloated days

The five-star review states: “I bought it in grey, size S, and love it.

“Fits true to size and looks neat when worn.

“Goes with many tops when the weather gets cooler, feels warm and doesn’t add bulk.

“A very sensible purchase.”

Waistcoats are proving extremely popular among fashion fans this year, with Dunnes Stores, Penneys and Marks and Spencer offering their own take on the look.

The noughties trend, which was a trademark of Kate Moss, was revived by stars like Zendaya, Kendall Jenner and Margot Robbie, who styled the piece not as a layer but as a statement piece.

The retro trend will undoubtedly continue into autumn, when the knitwear can be worn in layered looks and combined with jeans and boots for a Pinterest-worthy outfit.
