Marvel’s Luke Cage: Mike Colter talks about possibilities of a return to the MCU – News about comic and superhero films

Since Daredevil: Born Again brings back old Netflix Marvel characters, the question arises about Mike Colter’s return as Luke Cage has also been raised by many. Will the actor reprise his role? To answer the question, Colter has hinted at the possibility of making his MCU debut as Luke Cage.

For the real story, Mike Colter would like to return as Luke Cage

Colter last appeared as Power Man, aka Luke Cage, in 2018. While there’s no word on what Marvel plans to do with the character in the MCU, Mike Colter is excited to return if given the opportunity. He was recently asked about returning as Luke Cage and confirmed that he would “love to explore it.”

Speaking to ComicBook.com, he said:

“I’d love to pursue it if they find a story or a way to pursue it. And I’m happy that Charlie Cox and the others are remaking it, but I have no idea if Luke Cage will be remade. I’m not holding anything back.”

He also discussed the major changes that were made to the story of Daredevil: Born Again after the original idea of a reboot was scrapped and the series got new showrunners.

“I think that’s the right move. They should never have tried (to reboot it). No, no, I don’t know what that was about. I say, ‘Oh well, sure.’ It wasn’t broken, so don’t fix it,” Colter added.

With Daredevil: Born Again likely picking up where Season 3 left off and the Netflix Marvel series officially becoming MCU canon, Mike Colter may also reprise his role as Luke Cage when the opportunity arises. However, nothing has been confirmed at the time of writing.

With a second season confirmed for Daredevil: Born Again, it could feature more Netflix characters like Luke Cage and Jessica Jones, similar to how the first season featured Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page, and Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson.

It will be released on Disney Plus in March 2025, and that’s when MCU fans might get more clarity about the future of characters like Luke Cage.
