Jaipur: Two masked men on a motorcycle fired at least five shots at a prominent hotel in the heart of Churu A fire broke out in the city late on Saturday night. The windows of the Suncity Hotel near the railway station were shattered and guests stormed the building in panic.

The incident took place around 10 pm when the shooters on a bike without a number plate targeted the hotel. The hotel management informed the police. Local police officials, including Sunil Jhajharia, DSP of Jhunjhunu, rushed to the scene. Police do not rule out the possibility that an organised gang was involved.
“We have recorded the statements of the hotel owner and other executives. They told us that they had not received any threat,” the officer said. The bike used in the crime was stolen on July 29. “We have secured the video footage and found that the same criminals who stole the bike were also involved in the incident. Shoot. Further investigations are ongoing,” Jhajharia said.
The fire sparked panic in the area as residents and commuters who had heard gunshots gathered at the scene.
