From Bloomington, Indiana: As rugby becomes increasingly popular in the United States, Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business is working with the unions that represent all professional rugby players and national rugby teams to provide them with opportunities for a college education.

These new agreements with the US Rugby Players Association and the Major League Rugby Players Association provide these athletes with additional training opportunities for their professional advancement. These agreements are similar to Kelley’s previous successful collaborations with organizations representing players in the National Football League, Major League Soccer and the Women’s National Basketball Association.

Later this year, members of rugby players’ associations – including the men’s and women’s national teams competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics, as well as Major League Rugby teams – can apply for an MBA degree offered online by the Kelley School’s Executive Education Programs. They can also apply for certificate programs in business and choose from several Master of Science degree programs.

The state of Arizona will expand its real estate program with help from $25 million from the WP Carey Foundation

From Tempe, Arizona: The WP Carey Foundation and Arizona State University’s WP Carey School of Business are collaborating to expand the scope, strength and reach of the school’s real estate programs. The foundation recently committed an additional $25 million to ASU, bringing the WP Carey Foundation’s total commitment to over $100 million.

The WP Carey Foundation’s latest investment catalyzes the launch of an innovative undergraduate real estate degree program in fall 2025, upgrades the WP Carey Center for Real Estate and Finance through naming and expansion, and introduces an experiential learning lab dedicated to real estate. In addition, the center and lab will be allocated dedicated physical space and will attract leading faculty specializing in real estate research and practice.

“A true partnership goes beyond a mere monetary transaction because it must be based on a shared vision, goals and values.”

“For decades, the real estate industry has been a central part of the economic development engine that drives Arizona, and it will continue to play a central role in our progress as the state and its economy mature in the years to come,” said ASU President Michael M. Crow. “We are extremely grateful for this generous gift, which will help ASU expand its programs within the WP Carey School of Business that serve not only real estate industry practitioners, but also those who depend on those professionals.”
