App Researcher @Leopeva64 noted that Microsoft is improving its Edge browser’s PDF reader using Copilot AI.
The latest change includes the addition of smart keywords generated using AI means. This allows AI to generate important keywords from PDFs and then help with topic analysis.
Currently, we see Copilot on Edge summarizing all kinds of online content. This includes PDF documents. Now users can open any PDF file, allowing more interaction with the AI. This allows users to ask questions, perform reviews, and summarize all kinds of documents, including entire PDF files. If there are any ambiguities in the document, they can be resolved immediately.
Edge’s PDF reader is getting a new and enhanced feature that will output keywords, which can be a sentence or two that indicate important content in a particular document. It will also make the whole process of finding the right information easier.
As a leading browser researcher noted, the software giant has made improvements to its Canary in the past, including a keyword generator that leveraged the support of Microsoft Copilot.
Now Edge’s PDF reader is getting something similar, but not only highlights the smart words in the document, but also gives users the ability to click on them to get more information via Copilot.
Currently, it’s not clear when this feature will roll out for everyone to access, but you might be one of the lucky few who have access to the AI smart keywords feature on Dev or Edge Canary. The rest will just have to be a little patient while we wait for a full rollout.
