A sprawling Massachusetts mansion that was the scene of a gruesome murder and suicide is for sale for $4.2 million – the property listing describes it as a “perfect family home.”
The 11-bedroom, 11.5-bathroom property in Dover, MA, was put on the market earlier this week, just eight months after its former owner, businessman Rakesh “Rick” Kamalshot his wife and their teenage daughter before turning the gun on himself.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the listing makes no mention of the property’s gruesome history; instead, the focus is on the home’s numerous amenities and its picturesque setting.
“This home blends seamlessly into the idyllic, manicured grounds overlooking wooded walking trails, horse trails and a tranquil pond in the highly desirable Wilsons Way neighborhood,” it says.
The description further draws attention to the four-car garage, formal and informal dining rooms, newly renovated gourmet kitchen, library and marble-topped bar.
“This property is the perfect family home and offers a 14-seat home theater, a relaxing family room with a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, a 20’x40′ indoor pool, a fully equipped gym, a sauna with steam shower, extensive storage and a 5,000-bottle wine cellar,” the listing continues.
Built in 2000, the 27-room house was purchased by Kamal and his wife. Teenafor $4 million in 2019, according to several reports.
On December 28, 2023, just three days after Christmas, the businessman shot his 54-year-old wife and their 18-year-old daughter. Ariannabefore he committed suicide.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that the family – who appeared to live an incredibly lavish and privileged lifestyle – were deeply in debt and faced eviction from their property on the day of their deaths.
It is believed that Kamal’s younger brother, Manoj Kamaltold police that his older brother owed him $150,000, the Boston Globe reported, and that the businessman had recently lost his home to foreclosure because he had fallen behind on mortgage payments.
According to the outlet, Kamal took out a $3.8 million loan for the house, which was due to be repaid by 2021.
According to Fox News, Kamal left a note for the person who was supposed to pick up the keys, telling them to “call the police” before entering the property.
He also stated that he had marked each of the bedrooms where the bodies were found with a piece of paper.
“Please note,” the message read. “Before entering, call the police to check three bedrooms on the second floor first. Each room is marked with a white sheet of paper.”
