Music Tectonics online pre-conference will showcase MIDiA’s Cirisano and pitches from music technology startups

Music Tectonics has announced that its annual pre-conference will be held online on September 11 and will feature a keynote address by Tatiana Cirisano of MIDiA.

Music Tectonics’ online pre-conference is designed to set the tone for the in-person conference and Creator Fair from October 22-24, 2024. It will also feature pitches from ten semi-finalists from the music technology startups in the “Swimming with Narwhals” competition.

“During the pandemic, we discovered the incredible benefits of online events and we love the serendipity and deep connections we experience at in-person events,” said Music Tectonics founder Dmitri Vietze. “Virtual events allow us to unite the entire music technology community around the world. We want to gather both online and offline and ensure that each event type serves different aspects of our community.”

One music store becomes two

MIDiA’s Cirisano presents a comprehensive overview of the future of music and the emerging bifurcation of the industry, with the traditional streaming-focused music business splitting away from the emerging fandom and creator-centric sector.

In October, she will join MIDiA’s Mark Mulligan to present the arguments of the two sectors and the inevitability of the split.
