Nashville Elite Giants beat Indianapolis Indians 3-0 – Clarksville Online

The sounds of NashvilleNashville, Tennessee: The most beautiful beaches – A day after their opponent held them scoreless, the Nashville Elite Giants (59-53, 21-16) got revenge with a 3-0 victory over the Indianapolis Indians (51-58, 18-18) on Saturday night at First Horizon Park.

Nashville needed just one pitch to take the lead. Leading off at the end of the first inning Isaac Collins was ready for a fastball from Thomas Harrington (0-2), did not miss it and chased the ball over the right field wall to make it 1-0.

The game remained one-run for four innings before Nashville hit their second home run of the night, another solo blast. Francisco Mejia hit a hanging curveball from Harrington into the band box to make it 2-0 in the fifth inning.

The early run support came in conjunction with excellent pitching by the Elite Giants team. Carlos Rodriguez (7-7) kept the Indians guessing all night. The Brewers’ No. 7 prospect (MLB Pipeline) pitched a handful of strikeouts in 6.1 scoreless innings and allowed just three hits and two walks. He got some help from his defense, including a spectacular pike catch by Collins to close out the fourth inning in what was a good start.

After Rodriguez’s departure Bryan Hudson got out of trouble in the seventh inning. The Brewers’ rehabilitating left-hander managed a walk and a hit, but managed to get out of a bases-loaded position in the seventh inning. Aaron Ashby put the team out of action in order in the eighth inning, then Ryan Middendorf (S, 6) struck out two runners with a double play in the ninth inning, then got Jason Delay to ground out for the save.

Nashville was able to score points with every player in the lineup in the win. Noah Campbell added a sacrifice fly for another run in the seventh inning. Chris Roller He also reached base twice with a walk and a double. Collins reached base three times with a home run, a single and a walk.

Mitch White (2-3, 6.95) will make his first start of the season tomorrow night in the series finale, facing Indianapolis’ Aaron Shortridge (1-1, 5.06). First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. at Hit City.
