Netflix and Crunchyroll are among the companies affected by anime leaks

Netflix is ​​among the companies affected by a security breach at a post-production partner that led to a massive online leak of anime titles, including season 2 of Arcane, Terminator Zero, Ranma ½ and more.

“One of our post-production partners was compromised and footage from several of our titles was unfortunately leaked online,” a Netflix spokesperson said in a statement to Deadline. “Our team is taking aggressive action to remove it from circulation.”

According to IGN, which first reported the leak, the titles appeared on X and 4Chan.

Sony’s Crunchyroll was also among the victims. The first episode of the Isekai anime Subject: Zero has also leaked.

The content was first seen online on August 6. Since then, programs such as Heartstopper Season 3, Jentry Chau vs. the Underworld and films like Plankton – The Movie And Banished have also been leaked, according to IGN.

According to sources, the unidentified partner is Iyuno, a media localization provider.

Iyuno posted the following “security incident update” on its website today (Friday, August 9):

“Iyuno is aware of a recent security issue involving unauthorized access to sensitive content. Protecting our customers’ confidentiality and ensuring the security of their content is our highest priority. We are actively investigating this security breach to mitigate potential risks and identify those responsible. If there are any significant changes or information, we will provide further explanations.”

According to the company’s website, Iyuno’s customers include Netflix, Disney, HBO, Warner Bros. Discovery, A+E Networks, Amazon Studios, BBC Studios, DreamWorks and eOne.
