SAN ANTONIO – Kimpton Santo, a luxury boutique hotel, will open in San Antonio on August 29.
It is Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants’ first location in Alamo City and will feature one restaurant and three bars.
According to a press release, the property was once home to a historic 19th-century German-English school.
To celebrate the opening of the luxury hotel, Kimpton Santo invites guests to indulge in exclusive VIP and food and beverage specialties throughout the month.
Starting August 29, there will be a variety of exclusive promotions available, including 50% off dinner, BOGO brunch deals with $1 bottles of sparkling wine, and a special Bounce Back offer.
The Dean’s Steak & Seafood restaurant will retain many of the building’s original features. It will feature a design with dramatic lighting, double-height vaulted ceilings with exposed wood and more.
The steakhouse will feature a two-story dining room with 207 seats, an oyster bar and a private wine room.
From August 29 through September 30, the restaurant is offering guests 50% off their entire dinner bill Thursday through Sunday. Guests can also enjoy a bottle of sparkling wine for just $1, with a limit of one bottle per party of two. Guests can enjoy a buy one, get one (BOGO) deal at brunch, which is offered on Saturdays and Sundays. Children under 10 eat free at all breakfast and brunch.
The press release goes on to say that Dean’s menu will feature prime steaks, Japanese and Texas A5 Wagyu, and seafood.

At the bar, guests can participate in the exclusive “Dean’s List.” The bar features rare “off-the-menu” bourbons and vintage bottles of wine.
The Study at Dean’s is the third bar featured. This cozy cocktail bar focuses on the art of mixology.
The bar will seat 78 people and include a lounge and patio area. The menu will also include small plates such as charcuterie, caviar, Wagyu tartare and more.
A new rooftop bar will also be part of the boutique hotel. According to the press release, the Tenfold Rooftop will be one of the highest in the city.
Tenfold Rooftop offers its guests a special treat – a postcard with the final bill that they can redeem for 50% off on their next visit. This exclusive promotion is only valid for the first 30 days and must be used before September 30th.
The rooftop bar’s menu focuses on tequila and mezcal, with small plates, cocktails, beer and wine by the glass.
The luxury hotel will be located in the 400th block of South Alamo Street, just west of Hemisfair and north of Cesar Chavez Boulevard.
The 10-story hotel will feature 347 rooms, a rooftop pool and lounge, 10,000 square feet of event space and a fitness center.
Kimpton is part of the Luxury & Lifestyle Collection of IHG Hotels & Resorts. The hotel itself is owned and operated by White Lodging.
