NFL Waiver Wire: Where the Tennessee Titans land in the waiver order on Wednesday

The Tennessee Titans will trim their roster to 53 players by the deadline on Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET. However, general manager Ran Carthon will have one more opportunity to tweak his roster before Tennessee’s season opener against the Chicago Bears.

Once roster cuts are made, teams will look to the waiver and free agent markets for potential talent. Players with at least four accumulated seasons in the NFL will go directly to free agency after being cut, while players with three or fewer accumulated seasons will be placed on waivers.

Teams have until noon ET on Wednesday, August 28 to claim any unclaimed players. All unclaimed players will then become free agents. After the initial waiver period, teams will also begin assembling their practice squads.

The Titans may be looking for a quarterback to keep on the practice squad after the team parted ways with third-year quarterback Malik Willis on Monday.

With Chance Campbell landing on the injured list (IR) and Cedric Gray’s return timeline still unknown, as well as head coach Brian Callahan concerned about the lack of depth on the defensive line, it’s very likely that Tennessee will look to bolster those positions in the coming days.

With all of this in mind, let’s take a look at the Titans’ position in the waiver order before Wednesday, which should have a favorable impact on the number of players they can sign.

The current order is based on the 2024 NFL Draft order through Week 3 before switching to 2024 records and updating weekly.
