The latest main part of the series, The Sims 4is two and a half years ahead of Nintendo’s newest console. It originally launched for PC in September 2014 before arriving on PS4 and Xbox One three years later. Although MySims was one of the many Sims spin-offs that dominated the market, no new entry has been released since 2010, and that was about to change.

MySims Nintendo Switch port leaked by multiple retailers

This state of affairs could finally change in the near future, according to some newly surfaced retailer listings that seem to reveal the existence of a Switch version of MySims. MySims may be released for Switch on November 19th

Both sides announce the release date of the MySims Switch port on November 19, 2024. Vitrex even uploaded a product image, though it is likely a placeholder, not least because of its low resolution and the fact that it reuses the game’s original cover. Since these are third-party entries, their mere existence suggests that the unannounced MySims The Switch version will be released physically.

What is MySims?

Developed by the now defunct Visceral Games Studio, then known as EA Redwood Shores, MySims is a 2007 spin-off aimed at a younger audience than the main titles in the long-running franchise. To this end, the game features cartoon graphics with Mii-like characters and focuses on city building and decoration, as well as running errands for the neighbors. Compared to the main titles MySims offers simplified socialization and has no aging system or physical needs system. It therefore essentially plays like a Animal crossing Clone.

The game originally released on Wii and DS in September 2007. A simplified version of the life sim based on Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME) found its way to feature phones a year later, as did a PC port of the Wii version. While these newly leaked listings offer no clues as to which exact edition of the game might be coming to the Nintendo Switch, the Wii original seems the most likely candidate for a remaster, as it most closely matches modern sensibilities.

During the three-year period up to 2010, EA released five more entries in the MySims Franchise: MySims Kingdom, party, Run, AgentsAnd Sky HeroesIf the company is indeed planning to revive the series with the first installment for the Switch, then this port could well be well-known enough to warrant a Nintendo Direct announcement. While some recent industry rumors suggest that such an event is planned for September 2024, this particular show is said to be an Indie World show.

The Sims

EA’s life simulation franchise The Sims began in 2000 with a game of the same name that was once the best-selling PC game of all time.

In the main series games, players can build a home, create a handful of characters, and then guide them through their relationships, careers, and goals.
