What is the story

Zomato has introduced a new feature that allows users to plan their food orders up to two days in advance.

This update was announced by the company’s CEO and founder, Deepinder Goyal, on social media platforms.

Initially, the service will be available in seven Indian cities including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Lucknow and Jaipur.

A step towards better meal planning

The order planning feature is designed to help users plan their meals more efficiently.

Goyal explained, “Plan your meals better by ordering up to two days in advance. We will then deliver on time.”

However, this service is currently limited to orders above ₹ 1,000 and can be availed at around 13,000 outlets in the above-mentioned cities.

Selection criteria for restaurants

Goyal also explained the criteria used in selecting restaurants for this new feature.

He explained that these restaurants typically have a large inventory of dishes and always adhere to the specified preparation times in the kitchen.

The CEO assured that this service will soon be offered in more restaurants and cities and that there are plans to eventually extend it to all orders.

Zomato’s innovation in market competition

The launch of the order planning feature comes shortly after Zomato discontinued its intercity delivery service Legends.

This new development underlines the company’s commitment to innovate and improve its services in a highly competitive food delivery market.

The feature is designed to give users more flexibility and convenience when ordering food from their favorite restaurants.
