Dorothy M. (Mottura) Garda, 91, of Parks Township (Vandergrift), passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024, in Concordia of Cabot. The daughter of the late Felix Mottura and Josephine (Barcelino) Mottura, she was born October 24, 1932 in Leechburg, Armstrong County, PA. Dorothy was a homemaker and a wonderful cook. She took particular pleasure in entertaining family and friends. Biscuits and ravioli were her specialty and she was meticulous in preparing them. Visits to casinos and trips to Vegas were something she enjoyed as well as a good game of bocce ball. She was a member of Christ the King Church in Gilpin Township and the Marconi Club in Leechburg. Dorothy leaves behind four sons, Dominic P. Garda (Deborah) of Columbus, OH, Phillip E. Garda (Marcie) of Cincinnati, OH, Michael A. Garda (Darryl Cook) of Columbus, OH and Martin J. Garda (Maureen) of Lower Burrell; one daughter, Lisa J. Mathews (Thomas) of Pittsburgh; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Dominic J. Garda, in 2017; six siblings, Mary Soulier, Lena Mostachetti, Tony Mottura, Lucy Odasso, Raymond Mottura and Peter Mottura. Friends will be received by her family on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. at CLAWSON FUNERAL & CREMATION CENTER, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 16, at Christ The King Church, 125 Park Road in Gilpin Township. The Rev. Alan N. Polczynski will be the celebrant.
