Obituary for Edward Vingin (1931 – 07.08.2020) – Carnegie, PA

Edward S. Vingin, 93, of Carnegie, formerly of Latrobe and Renton (Plum Borough, PA), died Wednesday, August 7, 2024, in Northland Heights, Pittsburgh. Born February 4, 1931, in Sagamore, PA, to the late Stanley W. and Josephine (Dedo) Vingin, he was raised in Newfield (Penn Hills) where his father worked in the coal mine for many years. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he worked as a carpenter, coal miner, security guard and in the Greater Latrobe School District. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 515, Latrobe. Ed was very outgoing and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed his family and friends, traveling, hunting, fishing, camping and golf. He played the guitar, button box and dulcimer and loved getting together with others to make music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy (Miller) Vingin, a brother, William Vingin, and two sisters, Rosalia Pollick and Clara Molnar. Ed is survived by his children, Donald Vingin (Dana), Carol Gyulai (Ferenc), and John Vingin (Kim), a sister, Dorothy Sacek, two sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Aaron and Bernadette Butina (Edward), several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. There will be no public wake or memorial services. Private burial will be in St. Vincent Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to a charity of your choice.
