Obituary for Howard Winfield (1938 – 22.08.2024) – Jeannette, PA

Howard R. Winfield, 86, of Jeannette, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 22, 2024. He was born March 21, 1938 in Grapeville to the late Thomas J. and Carrie (Tickle) Winfield, Sr. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Debra, his brothers Kenneth, Wilbur and Thomas Jr., and his sisters Edith Detar, Olive Lutz, Vera Brown, Mildred Brown, Carol Kasparek and Gwendolyn Kasparek. Howard worked at Wilson Trucking in VA and prior to that as a welder at Westinghouse in Trafford. He was a member of the Living Word Congregational Church, Jeannette. Howard was musically gifted and enjoyed playing the trumpet in his youth. He also had a passion for cars. He is survived by his beloved wife Emma Jean (Silvis) Winfield of Jeannette; beloved daughters Carol Kornides (Jeffrey) of Latrobe and Brenda Guzik (John) of Jeannette; grandchildren Adam (Sarah), Amy, John (Sarah) and Greg; great-grandchildren Gabe, Isaac, Isabelle, Eleanor and Emma; and numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing will be Tuesday, Aug. 27, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon with Pastor Roy Aiken, Jr. officiating at the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette. Burial will be in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
